The Main Organisers of the Conference are SCAEF, TCDPAP and FIDIC/
ASPAC. The brief reference to the organisers are given below:
TCDPAP
Established in 1992 under the aegis of UN ESCAP, Technical Consultancy
Development Programme for Asia and Pacific (TCDPAP) is an Organization
of Consultants and Government Organisations representing fourteen
countries namely Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Iran, Korea, Laos,
Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka and Vietnam.
TCDPAP plays an effective role in the promotion of Consulting profession
and is instrumental in resolving the problems inherent in the consultancy
industry in Asia and the Pacific region, and for promoting collaboration
and global partnership. UN ESCAP established that service sector is the
major contributor to the Gross Domestic Product and developing consultancy
sector will be instrumental for National Economy.
SCAEF
SCAEF, established in 1990, is a national apex body of consulting business
companies of Nepal and represents Nepal in consulting related international
organizations e.g FIDIC and TCDPAP. SCAEF member companies provide
services to over 80% of consulting business in Nepal.
The Government of Nepal, Ministry of Physical Planning and Works
(MPPW) is the line ministry and supports SCAEF for strengthening the
consulting industry in Nepal. SCAEF is the member of Construction
Business Development Council (CBDC) of Nepal and is the founder of
Construction Industry Training Centre.
FIDIC/ASPAC
Founded in 1913 to promote the professional interests of Member
Associations and to disseminate information of interest to members, FIDIC
is charged today with promoting and implementing worldwide the industry’s
strategic goals on behalf of Member Associations representing the majority
of consulting engineering firms supplying services on a fee basis. Member
firms endorse FIDIC’s Statutes, By-laws and Policy Statements, and comply
with FIDIC’s Code of Ethics which calls for professional
competence, impartial advice and open and fair competition. FIDIC's
strategy, vision and mission were articulated in the report Engineering
Our Future 2004. ASPAC is the regional grouping of FIDIC members
and oversees activities in Asia and the Pacific Region. FIDIC has a
membership of 80 countries.
